> I know what you mean, I was a bit flummoxed, but then he had the temerity
to actually make his roll (how unsporting of him) so I wouldn't feel justified by making him catatonic!!

Hmm, you *did* remember to ad in the difficult magic modifier, didn't you? "Read thoughts of Intelligent Being" is a mere D+20, but then I'd tack on "and a Dragonewt mind at that" as another +20 (or more). As people have mentioned, reading a DN's mind is a really silly thing to do.

And as far as making his roll... Drinking a beaker of sulpheric acid is theoretically possible for a human, but even the best result is going to be painful.

Dang-it! Forgot the +20!! I added 10 to the difficulty, based on what I thought the Dragonnewt magic resistance would be (10W). If I had another 20 then I could have busted his ass!!! lol TBH the player is normally upfront about that, sneaky of him - still I guess it shows how important he must have felt it was to make it - I double teamed warrior Dragonnewts on a sage! Needless to say the beat him fairly convincingly. Its a good job for him they weren't actually trying to kill him eh?

I love the acid analogy!! I shall make a note about that! I think that applies to a good number of contests. Oh dear! You made the roll!! Great stuff.

Best regards
