Joe,

I would suggest the following:

Scenarios

Put out as many high quality scenarios as possible. For example, I
thought that "Shadows on the Borderlands" was a very good scenario
pack. When I want to GM, I want something that I can pick up and use
almost immediately, not something like the Dorastor pack where you have
to put together your own scenarios from the background material
presented.

If you want to get really ambitious I would suggest something along the
lines of the old Griffin Mountain RQ2 scenario pack --- lots of
background, but some very playable scenarios more or less ready to go.
Before doing that, however, I would suggest more stuff along the lines
of Borderlands.

Rules rewrite

Second on my wish list is a rewrite of the RQ3 rules. Personally I
would like to see RQ3 scrapped and a return to the simpler, gentler
days of RQ2. Some of the things I would like to see changed:
o	Get rid of fatigue
o Make Rune Magic at least (if not more) powerful than Sorcery
	and Spirit magic
o Prehaps returning the limits on Spirit Magic from RQ2 --- 4
points max protection from Countermagic, Protection, etc.
Allowing people to cast Protection 12 makes Shield a lot less
	attractive.

HeroQuest

Round up Greg and lock him in a cell with only bread and water until he
finishes this. 15+ years is far too long to wait for the sequal to
RQ. Some of the ideas that have been bouncing around on the net make
it sound like it would be really interesting but Greg has to finish the
damn thing instead of churning out books like King of Sartar and the
Glorious Reascent of Yelm what are of far less value IMHO. I would
almost like to see this before a rules rewrite --- and I would cerainly
rather see this than a rewrite that does not overhaul the magic
system.

Background material

Stuff like Elder Secrets, the Glorantha boxed set etc. This stuff is
nice, but of far less immediate use than any of the above suggestions.

And now for some questions of my own:

RQ today

What is the situation w.r.t. how RuneQuest is currently selling. I
have talked to a couple of store owners and they said that it was
difficult to find a distributor that is willing to carry any RQ stuff.
>From where you are standing is that what you are seeing? If so, what
do you think the problem is?

RQ releases

What happend to the momentum that seemed to be building w.r.t. to RQ
last year? A number of very nice scenarios and background material
were released and then everything seemed to stop.

RQ's future

Are there any more releases planned for RQ in the near (6 month)
future? Do you expect Greg to every get off his butt and finish
HeroQuest?

Hope this helps,

G'day henk,
Not sure if you got my last message as the Digests kept a-comin'. Please

UNSUB - mobtotrm@vaxc.cc.monash.edu.au

26th, unless you can do that automatically.

See some of you at Convulsion in a week, the rest of you etherially

I'm not that perverse. He's the same person. By 725, he had fought at the
forefront enough for it to become memorable...

I learned he was from Jorri when I looked at the etymology of "Jhor", one
of the regions of Carmania. He named it for his homeland: first place the
Army of Ten Thousand was granted to settle in.

I'm looking forward to seeing that article for myself, when Mike brings
copies of Codex #2 over for Convulsion. All my last-minute preps are going
well (touch wood, fingers crossed, Goddess willing, etc.).
