Orc 1: Combat 15w, smells bad 15w3 (used to augment combat skill), cowardly 12
Orc 2: Combat 15w, magic sword, berserk 14w Orc 3: Combat 15w, sneaky 14w, brave 19

It is easy to generate npcs and even easier to differentiate them. As to the "key-words" yes, each keyword had an attached group of skills which makes them great to include in your write-up as you get the who list by saying "merchant".

I find it easier to make them different from each other in less time. If you want to give them all different weapons you do not have to go looking up damage values and bonuses for each type same for any piece of equipment.
