Again, it depends on the sitiation at hand.

I can think of some possible situations.... But not common ones. More culturally aligned -- raiding a village and an Ernaldan god-talking is using her 'Think of the Children' Cajole feats. Tending to remind folks of their culutural virtues does draw people up short.

Unless, of course, you are running a fairly bloody handed crew. My own group backed off from the Ernaldan and went to loot elsewhere. They decided that they wanted no part of an angry priestess OR her kids.

Another classic example is the Trickster. he can usually convince someone not to beat/eat/mutilate/punhish him by various promisises and blandishments. Afterall, if you eat him, he can't tell you where that treasure is burried, right?
