Thanks for the example, that really help me better understand the
system.
However. I have a few comments and questions :
- you should have given the broo a head-butt ability other than 20 (or
1) because 20 is already a special case (the normally Fumble 20 roll
bebcomes a Failure), which does not help the understanding.
- I think using "tie" when both character succeed the same level is
misleading, as I would use it only when both character have a Success
AND roll the same number. In all other cases, it is not "tie" IMO
because either or both pcharacters suffer some effects.
- at the end of the story, you mention the rusty sword that could be
diseased. However, I thougth the broo was using Head-butt as attack,
gettting the 20 AP from there ? I didn't see it switching weapon ? And
if it would do so, how this would have affected its AP for bidding and
its current AP : do you keep your original AP from the first attack ?
(meaning it would be a good thing to start with your best weapon first,
to make sure you have the most AP, before switching to a more
appropriate weapon if necessay during the fight) Or do your AP
recalculte depending on the new skill (oops ! I mean ability) you are
using ?
- when you trade wound, dhow do they cumulate : each wound reduce -1,
i.e if over the combat you get (whether by reduced AP or by winner
trading AP for a wound) 4 wounds, your roll is now with a -4 modifiers
? Or is it a chnage in wouding level : first wound is hurt status, then
the second put the character to injured level, and the third one ,
maximum one, id dying level ?.
- Finally, I think this story (a bit rewriten according tot the various
clarificatiuon made), should be added in the FAQ (or PAQ), at
combat/bidding example.
Other examples for other aspects of the system would be greatly
appreciated !
Alain.
