Aye, but if you explicitly state an ability in your character write up you could treat it as separate.

Close combat 1w (spear and shield fighting, Sword and shield, etc.....) 'Smash in face with fists 2w'

Personally I'd ditch close combat altogether. So you'd just get a list of combat abilities from you're cultural key words and character description. So above would just be;

'Spear and shield fighting 1w'
'Sword and shield fighting 1w'
'Smash in face with fists 2w'
