An excellent analysis, and I'm sure this was what was intended -- pulling some "key" abilities from the God-Talker keyword into the Humakti Sword keyword, *because* there are no Humakti God-Talkers. (NB: that may be an "Orlanthi none", of course... :-)

The broader issue remains: are there a set of key abilities which *all* "professional magic-workers" (to coin an ugly new term - I mean priests, shamans, mystics or sorcerers, of course) using each type of magic damn' well ought to have (such as 'initiate to' for theists) -- and, if so, should HW 2nd edn and other publications "correct" those published keywords which omit these (e.g. the Lunar priest keyword, which lacks 'initiate to').

The Jakaleel magic keyword is confusing *because* it's trying to be a combination of Shamanic-occupational and Animist-magical keywords, where the Heortling and Grazer examples deliberately separate the two. Where things are "left out" of the combo keyword (i.e. where Jakaleeli look short-changed compared to other animist traditions), or turn up in odd places, it is not clear if this was intentional or accidental. The "compressed" presentation confuses the issue.

Likewise, as Tim noted: the Humakt Devotee lacks some abilities which any other God-Talker would have. Are these *meant* to be spheres of activity in which the Humakt cult is wholly deficient?

Cheers, Nick
