And indeed this is what happened in our game. The characters were outlawed and we dropped their wealth to 5 - all their influence, favours, lines of credit gone (and perhaps we should have made it even lower).
But your right. I get the impression wealth falls into different approaches. A:) Its an ability representing a lot of things including easily convertible assets and economics is not a factor in our game B:) Its equatable to a specific measure of assets and economics is a factor C:) Somewhere in the middle.
Incidentaly though TR does give you some idea of what wealth represents what for Orlanthi in the requirements for that social level i.e. a plough and team of ox giving you x many acres etc. Not perfect I know but just in case it helps.
