When you say 'an edge of +2 to the APīs', it may just be the way you have put it, but Edge does NOT add to your AP. Offensive Edge increases the number of AP your opponent loses IF you win an exchange in an Extended contest, Defensive Edge reduced the ammount you lose if you lose. Edge has NO other effect.
