I like fitting seemingly incongruous things into the picture I make; I'm not afraid to change these kinds of things, but I liked the idea of 'canny heroes' -- most of the Gloranthan heroes I've seen are fairly direct in approach. I'm a big fan of the clever viking heroes of the sagas, and this gives me a clan patron who emphasizes that in what I think is a particularly Heortling way.

To some extent, I wanted to have a way for newbie players to save their clan if they screw the pooch. 'There's Always Another Way.'

This makes great sense, and works pretty well. Although, one man can indeed make a difference. It just takes an extraordinarily successful investment. And I think such HP expenditure is a pretty good measure of it.

Thanks.
