Personal augments vs. Community support

My biggest problem with augments is that they make community support superfluous. Why provide all those hard-won heroquest benefits to others when you can get better augmentation bonuses, once you reach a certain level of power, just doing it yourself? I do not believe that heroes routinely abandon their communitites once they attain demigodhood, as doing so means severing ties to their current and potential future worshippers.

Here's a quick-and-dirty fix, although not a great one:

  1. add the APs of all abilities being used to augment;
  2. find this number on the Number of People column of the Community Support table. If it falls between two values, use the lesser value;
  3. the number in the Extraordinary Support column shows the maximum personal augment possible.
