In a sense, any inverted or "bitonic" carryover or other consequence charts are a bit pointless. In any contest, "victory" is "doing you set out to do" (to a greater or lesser extent), and "defeat" is failing to do so. If beating the blue blazes out of someone on a HQ isn't what you're supposed to do for a given Path, then no matter how you do it it's not a 'victory' in any meaningful sense, and vice versa.
This is Buttkicking vs. Powergaming I suppose, in the Lawsian sense. ;-)
