How about banning your players from using certain words or grammar when their characters have to communicate in one of these other languages? Or apply penalties, swear-box style, when they use banned words. (Like the non-humans in the Retief of the CDT books.)

More extreme, but from actual play: A little while ago we had a scenario where the Uz PCs had to communicate with Zebra riders. I forced the players to communicate only with words contained in a book on Plains Indian sign language.
