Loath as I am to get deeper into this, I feel that someone needs to make an attempt to stop this.

Wulf, I can't speak for anyone else, but I realised perfectly well that you were attempting to make a joke. The fact that your comments were meant to be humourous does not prevent them from being insulting. As someone who has been genuinely trying to answer the questions various people have, I feel perfectly justified in take offense.

Simply put, your humour is childish, your comments unhelpful and negative. Your ratio of helpful, positive comments to negative sniping is frankly unimpressive. If you are genuinely concerned about the standard of advice, please lead by example and provide either helpful advice or illuminating questions. I'm trying my best to be helpful here, so are many other people. We aren't paid, and my good will (I can't speak for others) is running somewhat short.

Hero Wars is a game that has many faults that have been discussed many times before. We all know it needs an index, more examples, better layout. Patience will help, bitching won't.

Hero Wars is also a game that has made certain game design decisions. Some of us like them, some of us don't. If you don't, perhaps you should play another game. Or make up house rules. If the latter, please post links to them - I like house rules! Some of the rules can take a little thought to get your head round. I don't for a moment believe that any of them are especially complicated. I've run Hero Wars for some two dozen different players now, and have participated as a player with perhaps a dozen more. No one I've seen has taken more than an hour or so to get the hang of the game. Masteries and augmenting seem to be the biggest stumbling blocks. The idea that you need to be part of a secret cabal with access to special information to play the game is frankly laughable.

Could we *ALL* please try to be a bit more positive here? I know some people are having trouble with some ideas. I know some advice is less than helpful *TO YOU PERSONALLY* than you might like. I know Issaries slow publishing schedule (small company - lack of money) is frustrating. But taking it out on the rest of us is not helping.

Cheers,
Graham
