Err?? It is my job to attack my players, not sure I understand what you are getting at?? If you mean 'why blame your players', I'm not.

See previous emails to mine (to which I was responding), which said others were using this ability - Resist Magic - and I think such a thing is actually mentioned in the rules. It isnt just my idea, a few people have said they use it.

Resist magic is not generalised, it is quite specific and of little use in resisting anything else.

What I was higlighting was the difference between buying affinities and buying specific skills, and the cost in HPs... there seem to be (as far as my players are concerned) some imbalances that make them make certain decisions...

Of course you need to understand that at the moment most of them see affinities and feats as merely sources of augments, and have yet to make the leap to actually using them to perform some magical feat...
