So have I, which is why it comes up :-).

Basically, I'm firmly on the side of "I play games for fun, and to do Glorious Deeds (that I can't do easily in my mundane life)". I don't see the Narrator as the natural enemy of the Player (as some early games did. *cough* D&D *cough*). We're all in it together, and if something just plain fits the game, don't sweat the dice.

Or, to put it another way, sometimes Sacrificing yourself for the good of the world is something no self-respecting hero should fail at!
