I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, as long as the group enjoys the play style favored by HQ.

 From my hazy recollections, the Forgotten Realms would take quite well to the homeland keyword concept, pretty well to profession keywords, and acceptably well to religion/magic keywords. Relationships (a key part of HQ!) don't seem to have *as* strong a part to play, at least not as universally as in Glorantha, though there are certainly regions and professions where they play a greater role.

As with some RQ-to-HQ conversion suggestions, you might just want to "start over" with character creation and write up your 100+-word-descriptions based on the D&D characters in their current state, rather than attempt a line-by-line character sheet conversion. At the very least, it'll be less brain-taxing that way.

Sounds like a neat project.
