I guess the issue is what do you want to replicate? A slave bracelet had the ability to sever the wearers' connection to his gods in the old days so now it has to perform a similar function under HQ/HW.

I don't know that they need to have any special unbreakable ability since bronze is probably beyond a supervised slave's abilities to break anyway. I suppose you could have a specific ability should the slave warrant it.

I guess the question is does a blanket "suppress magical abilities" feature work or do you need separate ones for theists, animists and sorcerors (or shudder mystics:-))? Personally I think I'd prefer a one size fits/affects all approach but that might not gibe very well with the three fold world approach. A cool approach could be that the bracelets cut you off from the supernatural world leaving you firmly stuck in the all too mundane world.
