A complexity I didn't post yesterday would be that in many cases, the "pre-wounding" would require some sort of roll. You might think you can grab your enemy's sword and twist it out of his hand, even though it cuts your hands, but you'll need to make a Determined or Ignore Pain roll in order to qualify for the option. Or, to disguise yourself as a woman, causing a consequence to your reputation, you might have to LOSE a Proud contest. (It might be best to allow a smaller "pre-wound" if such a contest didn't go the way the player wanted.)

A +40 is w2, which is pretty much automatic victory for two evenly matched foes.
