And since it's augment-only magic, it's pretty hard for the kids to tell what's real magic and what isn't. Does saying "neener, Vinga, can't catch me!" *really* help you run faster (+1 augment)? Or do they just think it does?

Ditto for the curses that you bring on yourself if you break the taboos. "Every boy knows" that if you put your right shoe on first, you'll have bad luck for the day. (A -1 penalty to hunting/weapon abilities? Or just a superstition?)
