Hrm. Analogous to the way that (say) a landscape spirit is a spirit, and is of the spirit world, but is only present in the mortal world?

I could see that.

So Selfrock is concentrating on magic that you can get without breaking an otherworld boundary. Yes, you know a "float" spell, and yes, you got that spell from your connection to the (Essence) Stream[*], but since the Stream is in the mortal world, the spell didn't have to cross a world boundary to get to you.

Does that sound reasonable?

--AMS [*] um, the Stream is an Essence and the Creek is a Spirit, right? Or is it the other way around?
