I like this. I would consider it a magical ability since it's a godly gift. I definitely think it would work for the AP situation (see below).

I always thought of it as the regeneration gift. Recovering magic could work, too, though.

It could be listed as the magical ability 'Regeneration' and treated as minor magical self-healing.

If you want it to be used to 'recover magic points', that would be a little trickier but could be a magical ability 'restore magic'. It can be used as a final action to come back into a contest where magic has been used.
