Well, however you handle wounds and healign some book keping is necessery. You need to record wound penalties and healing attempts anyway, what ratings you use is surely just a matter of taste?

What I realy like about this is that it makes wounds and healing much more interesting, because it links it in with the rest of the system. Enemies can use the fact you're wounded to get an augment. Healers get to use their abilities in the normal way abilities work. Different wounds can augment the one beign healed, simulating complications. It makes it all into a a part of the narative rather than just an anomalous book keeping excercise that's got nothing to do with the rest of the system.
