See, this is still all about as clear as mud. I'm not even clear which of you two is saying what. The rules say that you get only one Specialized Magic Keyword. Thus, though it's true that a character probably had to be an initiate before becoming a devotee (or is it), the devotee doesn't have to take the Initiate keyword. I think that the presumption is that everything that they might have gotten in the Initiate keyword is present in the Devotee Keyword. So you don't have to take both to represent a Devotee. Am I wrong on that?

So, it could be that a Practitioner Keyword similarly subsumes the Spritist one in a similar manner. That said, it seems less likely because it would imply that Practitioners have to give up their Tradition Charms (since the Practitioner Keyword doesn't list getting them).

What I think is going on is that the Spiritist Keyword is just the same thing as the Religion Keyword that you get free along with your homeland and is explicitly listed as a keyword that you get. This would make sense, because it would parallel the Common Worshipper of a Theist religion. Basically, the Common Worshipper is parallel with the Spiritist (and in some ways the Practitioner is like the Initiate, and the Shaman like the Devotee).

Does this interpretation make sense, is that what people have been saying? If so, then that's one problem down, and several to go.
