I imagine that the Orderlies would go through some for of Vigil, preparing the night before with attonements, special meals etc then they would assume the position before the relevant icon/symbol/image of their patron saint, whilst another orderly reads from the saints holy text. This could go on all day or even for several days until thye begin to visualise the paths of their patron, eventually entering the heroplane to follow their footsteps and actions, learning from their parables, lessons etc. I think the path would be more linear than the Theist Heroquest, but it feels right to me.
