I think that part of it would be that most (maybe an Orlanthi most) of the adult men would be initiates of Orlanth Adventurous, rather than allfather. So they aren't as good at farming and making and relationships, but they are good at combat (and movement!). So the average combat skills will be higher, with more personal augmentations too.

Then, as was already said, their wyter is apt to have abilities approprite to a war clan. (detect ambush instead of detect barley rot, etc). Also their war band is apt to be proportionately larger, so their war band wyter will be more powerful, and is more apt to have quested added powers added to it (and if the clan wyter has extra powers, more of them are apt to be war related).

Finally, and purely mundanely, you may well see heavier average armor, the result of generations of investment and looting.

None of these is a big deal on its own, but if you have an avearge weapon score 2 points higher, and personal magical augments averaging 3 points higher, and a war band wyter which augments 1 point more, and an extra relevant clan wyter blessing for a couple of points, and couple of points for chain mail instead of leather armor, and probably a war band leader with better augments for the massed effort by a couple of points, that totals a +12 over the balanced clan, which is a pretty significant advantage!
