Or, rather, the question is what defaults does a character get? Some creatures get the Fly ability. Does this mean that everyone has Fly 6 as a default? Seems unlikely. It seems that there is an unspoken "Species" and "Gender" keyword for everyone. That is, one theoretical way to look at this is that everyone has this keyword that allows all of the defaults that the character has. Run 6? That's because you have legs, trees don't have it. Moreover, lose your legs, and you lose the ability (or, perhaps gain a flaw that counteracts the default 6?).
Is that what you were getting at, Rory? When you mentioned the "female" keyword?
Another way to look at it, of course, is that it's not a keyword per se, but you only have a default of 6 in those things that your description would make likely. Perhaps simpler, but my anal retentive side thinks that the keyword idea is cooler.
