I wasn't going to revile the idea, I just wondered if
there was another official ruling I'd missed
somewhere.
To be honest it's not a problem in my game, most of
the characters take compatible common magic with their
specialised magic, with the odd exception. I like the
example common magic sources - beats my paltrey four
for my campaign over the head! I shall consider
nicking a few.
