Aaargh. OK, so I was wrong after all that. :-)

Good to be humbled often.

Knowing that, I am going to "tweak" slightly to keep my option, and say that it's GM fiat as to who gets hit by the consequences. Again, so I can have my cheerleaders and such. I might also consider giving different penalties to different characters. That could work, too. The warrior gets a broken leg, and the cheerleader suffers a penalty to cheering him on in the future or something.
