On a less OT note, the three worlds business, if I had to start all over, I'd probably rationalise spirits as small versions of gods and work the rest out from there with any penalties arising from in-game reasons - common magic as fragments of whatever type of worship which have spread about like useful shareware (or memes) - but I've posted that last part before, to no acclaim whatsoever :)
