See, there it is again. Players have fun playing around the character's decision to either be the generalist, or go the specialist rout. Especially early on. I'll bend heaven, earth, and Glorantha if I have to in order to ensure interesting decisions for the players. Yes it takes away another potentially interesting decision that Nick points out (that being, "Do I heed my culture's rules, or take on more magic"), but I think either way is just as compelling.
