Heh, I've been calling my game a Soap Opera for a while now. Actually, I recently revised this assessment to something more like a set of consecutive mini-series. That is, they tend to have the scope of lots of characters, and not a lot of unity of plot, but they do all seem to come together somewhat in terms of themes (and, of course backdrop). This seems a lot like how miniseries play out to me.
