RE: Narrative Abilities are crap?

I wouldn't have said that the keywords being included in the narrative at a different level is a problem. Keywords represent something that other people in the character's environment can do as well as, or probably better. The non-keyword things in the narrative tend to be things that differentiate the character from other characters with the same keywords who took all the same optional bits and bobs.

So, Jon's been a shepherd all his life. His keyword of 17 is less than his Uncle Hrolf with a keyword of 7W or even his older brother with a keyword of 19. On the other hand, Jon's the only one that "knows Lunar missionaries 13" as he's a bit more "open minded 13" and "talks to anyone 13."

If Hrolf or Jon's brother want to go and talk to the missionaries (for whatever quisling, brain sucking bat loving reason) they're immediately at a disadvantage. Jon knows most of 'em by name so he's not.

Cheers,

Ash
