Then he's gaining a feat from another hero-cult or subcult of his god or aspect of his god and the feat's not common magic - i.e. it doesn't arise from the inner world.

If you want common magic, don't devote, it's bad for you. All the usual caveats about bloody lunars, worshippers of primal beings from the spike apply here.
