And most cavalry types have a Ride skill that acts as a maximum or governor for how much of their ground-trained and based combat they can use.

Actually, you are governed by your riding skill for how much combat you can muster from horseback... IIRC.

Actually, in RQ, one could not fight on horseback greater than one's riding skill.... this is just the reverse case. You get one penalty or the other but not both.

I am agreeing with this. Its a different game set in the same world.

Yes. Different members in our troupe have vies on that. Our Vingan seems to keep 4-5 lying around. Our Humakti keeps 2-3. But both the Odaylan's only keep 1.

But if they know there's a heroquest in the near future, I see these numbers going up by a pretty uniform 4...
