In short the (glib) answer is that there aren't any Common Magic Affinities. Animists and Sorcerors don't get the ability to improvise either.

(And I'll note that the Initiate's ability to improvise is strictly limited - only Devotees get the full flexibility).

There's nothing to stop you finding an imaginative use for a Common Magic Talent - or any other ability that you can use actively (magical or not). If it isn't entirely appropriate you might even get a penalty like the improvisation penalty. But the way the magic system is set up there are no other broadly-usable abilities like Affinities to improvise off.
