Err, I can assume that you were playing some variant contest rules, then? Normally, in a simple contest you'd get one roll for the entire fight. I'd *probably* rule for only one augment per support person, though you *might* allow 3 per person under the "stacking magic" rules, but that is really what Rituals like "The Arming of Orlanth" are for - and they aren't done pur of the moment!
