Personally I do not like that conversion. The philosophy of the Hero Wars to HeroQuest rules update was supposed to be 'no special rules'. So I believe that Death Song Berserk has game mechanical effects that are alike to any other feat. Sure, I would hope the player would step up to the plate and make high AP bids, and I would encourage him to do so, but this is the essence of HeroQuest that the player's narration makes the feat 'cool' not a mechanic. A devoted Orlanthi player might claim that his Sword Help was just as ballsy as Death Song Berserk and then make it so in narration by a good description.

Look less for mechanical effects to simulate reality in HeroQuest, and look for what you think is narratively cool and play it with HeroQuest

IMO I think the Death Song refers to the willingess of the Humakti to meet his own death - 'today is a good day to die' and the advantage that lack of fear gives him.
