Followers at character creation.

When using the narrative method of character creation and detailing followers, how much needs to be said about the follower?

Is writing, "Also with Kasdeck is Dravdul, a whinny scribe and initiate of Danvodri the Ibis." the same as writing, "Also with Kasdeck is Dravdul, his scribe."

The flavor text is different, of course, but would the finial outcome, ability wise, be any different depending on how I wrote it?
