That's always the way I read it due to the context. All spells an Adept knows can be cast individually. When using the Grimoire to cast, you are actually using the "Use Grimoire" ability. Thus you can't use multiple spells with your use grimoire ability to augment something, it is all one ability. (Same principle as only being able to use one affinity, even though you know multiple feats within it.)
