An alternative to concentration rules

Hello -

A thought for those of you who feel that the concentration rules are too extreme, but who like the idea of rewarding 'specialists'. I was thinking that instead one could have an attribute that reflect the attachment to a given otherworld; it would automatically augment the magical abilities for the appropriate otherworld; and conversely it would decrement the other otherworlds. Therefore a specialist would focus on only one otherworld's capabilities.

Thoughts?

One thought I had was that the augmentation would be more powerful the more specific the focus. Eg, 'Theism' concentration might give a 1/10 augment; 'Storm tribe' might be 1/4; 'Humakt' might be 1/2. (So the ability might actually be the 'worship pantheon/diety' trait).

Of course, the various variables would need to be considered for game balance. E.g., the amount of augmentation, the cost of the trait, etc.
