This is a great idea - using the system rather than creating new rules. You would probably do this without really thinking about it at the extremes of the range - giving a Clan Elder "Aged 2W" and using it to Augment knowledge type rolls, but to negatively augment physical abilities, and conversly with a freshly initiated youngster using his "Young 17" to augment his stamina and similar physical abilities and penalise (keyword) abilities where experience would be important.

The only "problem" comes if you are playing the same character continuously from their impetuous youth to their dotage, finding a way to reduce their "Young" and then increase their "Old" at a reasonable rate, and without them ever being both at the same time... It would be some sort of directed increase, with the possibility of the player spending HP to either stave off the onset of aging, or increase the effects (for the prematurely aged)
