Hi

I think the thing to remember here is that some abilities inform us about a particular character when they come from a keyword. Thus you get a flavour for what a warrior is like by the kind of abilities he has, similarly with homeland and magic keywords.

Heroquest does not have a set 'this ability does this' so you can actually work of an ability by providing the suitable explanation and colour. Your Narrator will impose an improv modifier based on how close to the ability description he deems it to be, maybe with some consultation with the player and the other players, depending on narrating style.

Thus, maybe the duelist could use a suitable dueling weapon using the ability, or augment a weapon skill in the duel. Maybe he will use it to augment the excellent soliliquoy he admonishes someone with at banquet. The scope, as they say, is the imagination.

Regards
Rob
