I am going to drop out of the vocabulary discussion, and arguments about whose definition of ceremony is more correct, with a simple observation.
Whereas the dominant paradigm of western material rationalism disbelieves,
denies, derides and ridicules the spiritual concept which may be called
magic (or miracles, etc.) this paradigm is not all-pervasive in the
western world, and in most of the non-Western world is not even the
dominant one.
But this list is a Gloranthan list and I for one have zero desire to make it into a battleround of our respective terrestial beliefs.
That said, you have to be using the words on this list, discussing
Glorantha, in their Gloranthan context. Glorantha is a magical world, as
we all know. I sincerely doubt anyone thinks of the use of this word,
magic, to be the common modern use of prestidigitation or slight of
hand. Similiarly, myth is generally used in the modern secular society
to mean falsehood, but that is only one possible meaning, and I do not
think that members of this list any longer use the term to mean that.
Same withceremony. This is a Gloranthan list, and we are discussing Glorantha, and ceremonies are used to make magic.
