Assigning "what you need to succeed"

 Hey gang.

A question that occurs to me upon reading Mike's wonderful "assault the fortress".

How do you all handle questions of "difficulty succeeding".

Given the conflict-based resolution system of Heroquest, a seduction (for example) can have many different goals while using the same stats (say "Seductive" vs "Loyal to Mistress" modified by "Chaste").

If the PC is trying to seduce information, or to leave the front door open, or to get the Mistress's prized necklace handed over - still the same stats.

So... how do you handle this? Do you all tend to use situational modifiers to make leaving the door open an easier sell job than handing over the jewlery? Or do you make it that different success levels result in greater help? (The overall goal is to get the necklace, how much help do you get?)

In general, do people rule that any victory accomplishes the goal, or do you tend to require a certain margin of victory?
