True, the Flesh Man abilities are talent-only. However, I was seeing the sample common magic list as separate from that, meaning that as a heortling, you could pick from the Flesh Man talents listed in the homelands description AND from the sample list. Those abilities you pick from the Flesh Man abilities list would all have to be talents. those you pick from the sample list... I'm not sure. I would have said those can be whatever the player likes, though I guess the narrator could insist they must fit into the Flesh Man common religion and thus be talents as well. But since I understood common magic as a kind of everyday magic, I wouldn't be that restrictive - why shouldn't a Heortling clan know of a *charm* to keep the water cool?
