Yes. What comes to mind is Greg's Morden defends the Camp in Gloranthan Visions. Several foes are thrown at the hero but each one is defeated in succession.

One could choose to set a limit to this as well, a priori. The series of contests at the fair. The two champions who fight before a battle starts but start with the ritual boasting, then displaying arms, then beating eachother up. The victory level for that fight feeds into the roll(s) for the battle. We've discussed EC's for fixed-length contests like this before (on this list) but chained contests might work better.
