That would be my thought as well. But as noted, the Madman's Table is
very red-flagged. Anyone climbing up on it should expect to end up
like Mikka. Clearing out the place is a job for a real nasty
HeroQuest. As the text says, their presence is unmistakable to
anyone. This is certainly a case where character knowledge should be
conveyed to players, especially who don't quite get it. Anyone who
climbs the rock despite warnings gets what's coming to them. Madman's
Table isn't a nice place.
Unlike the other ghosts, Mikka is actually friendly. She just wants
to be rescued - though getting that across. And she doesn't need to
possess someone if someone 'holds her hand' such as carrying away her
remains - or even her amulet. The Possession ability is inherrent to
ghosts in both editions of the game and is discussed on page 212. The
sample ghost has 'terrify living' and 'dominant possession'. The
Drain Magic, as Bryan says, is possibly an artifact of RuneQuest. In
hindsight, I probably should have called the ability "Drain Life from
Living" instead.
Hope this helps!
