Hey, if you're going to leave yourself *that* open it would be criminal neglect for me not to strike. I could use my Internet Writer's License!

In some practices/traditions, quite possibly. I remember writing some spirit practices without one or the other "essential skill" (You've got to have Worship/Follower, though...). You're probably thinking of the HW distinction between animist "Member" and "Holy Person" (HW 213).

But if you want to split out a "Holy Person" it's easy enough - the tradition/practice won't teach Spirit Face/Open Spirit World to "just" practitioners, only to "advanced" ones (whatever "advanced" means to the narrator/the tradition)

Remember that "Worship Leader" is not a function of "level of worship", it's an Occupation keyword (Priest, Spirit Talker, Clergyman).

Right. But, as you say below, he is truly beholden to the spirits of his practice and tradition and the known ways to interact with them. He can deal with friendly to hostile ones within the tradition. (I am unclear about if he
can only deal with spirits of his own practice or if he can at least try to deal with ones in the tradition but in another practice.)

He can deal with the basic spirits of his tradition (outside of Practices) as he *is* a Spiritist of the tradition. As far as trying to play with other practice's spirits, I would only adjudicate that on a case-by-case basis. How do the two practices deal with each other? Are they allies? Are they enemies? Are they split on gender or some other lines? Some might be "neutral" to the hero's practice, some might be "hostile", a rare few might even be "friendly". I'd assume that *some* information can be gleaned from "Tradition Knowledge", though at a hefty penalty for the most part (some spirits might not be included at all in "Tradition Knowledge, only in "Practice Knowledge").

Trying to use a "foreign" spirit has similar problems - is a Fire Spirit from a foreign practice friendly or hostile or neutral to your Fire Spirit practice? Well, you pays your Hero Points and takes your chances (and no, you *don't* get to augment with "Practice Knowledge"!).
