Maybe its because I don't know much about RL combat. But for some reason, this just doesn't sound plausible to me.

I dunno much about Tarzan's combat abilities, but didn't Conan have super-duper high rating in that sort of thing? And, as I've said, I can see that it doesn't matter much at high power levels.

And I agree that there are some exceptions. Which may mean we're arguing over a matter of degree. Although, to be fair, so long as the rules are there (as Robin has recently confirmed they will be) I'm not really bothered whether they're in a sidebar or the main text. So long as they're reasonably accessible.
